The Dragster’s power

A 454 CI Chevrolet with 8.5-1 compression, a Cola crank, Oliver Rods, Venolia pistons complete the rotating assembly. The heads are World Product’s Merlins, which have been ported and polished. A BDS intake manifold couples the 8-71 blower to the engine, and an Enderle bug catcher injects the Methanol. It makes a reliable 1,000 or so horsepower and the transmission is a highly modified Power glide that runs in high gear only. The high gear tranny tames the launch and makes it very consistant. The rear end is a full floating 9” Ford with 4.10 gears. The exhaust is a pair of zoomies, eight straight pipes really wake up the fans.

The Mustang’s power

A 408 CI Ford Windsor with 12-1 compression, Eagle crank, Eagle H beam rods, and SRP pistons form the rotating assembly. The heads and intake are Edelbrock’s Victor Jrs. and the Carb is a 850 CFM Holley double pumper. It makes in excess of 500 horsepower and the transmission is a highly modified C-4. The rear end is a Ford 9” with 3.90 gears. The exhaust is Hooker Super Comp headers feeding 3” Flowmaster mufflers. This engine is a Bad Ass Engine, www.badasscars.com
